San Diego’s Whaley House

Whaley House in San Diego, California basically takes you back in time. Prior to being labeled as arguably the most haunted dwelling in America, there was a courthouse and gallows situated on the land. Later on, the courtroom remained, but a 2-story home was built around it. Thomas Whaley owned the property and certainly made many enemies by sentencing and hanging various criminals for their crimes in the 19th century. Definitely the most prominent ghost sighting is that of “Yankee Jim” Robinson, a grand larcenist who was condemned for horse theft. Now a museum, the building is also reported to be haunted by the ghosts of entire Whaley family. Objects are seen to move on their own. Lights are seen, as well as apparitions through both sides of the windows. Footsteps are heard on the stairs and plodding along the wood floors. I, personally, was pushed to the ground on the front porch by unseen forces with witnesses present. I also literally watched a hand imprint form and vanish on a bed with other people in the room.
