Bigfoot may not be the only strange unknown animal prowling Washington’s forests. While it’s well-known that big cats are found there, cougars may just be the tip of the iceberg. Decades ago, the top-secret Hanford site was alleged to be where our government performed covert operations that may have led to mutations of known animals escaping the facility and running amok. Many locals in that area have reported and continue to fear a large black feline animal that stealthily stalks anyone and anything living. Humans are actually the targeted prey, but does this Ape-Cat really exist? Outdoor enthusiasts flock to the Columbia River Gorge and know the terrain like the back of their hand. So why are they so terrified? The remote location could harbor its own secrets, but black cougars are almost non-existent. Many sightings could be mistaken identity or overexaggeration from extreme fear and duress. A recent documentary did travel there to interview some very credible sources, but, in the end, a dark-furred mountain lion was captured by a trail camera. So what’s really going on, and is the Hanford site connected to the truth?
