Are you familiar with the cult classic “Sharknado”? In the Bahamas and surrounding areas, local lore mentions a most unusual animal that’s been reported lurking in the depths. During the exploration era, sea monsters were often blamed for mishaps that occurred away from land. In the heart of the island nation, as well as offshore, there are several mysterious spots called “blue holes”, where absolute truth remains uncertain. Lusca is a terrifying creature that combines 2 of the ocean’s menaces: shark and octopus. These animals allegedly attack fisherman, sailors, and boats. Their aim is supposedly to drag some unsuspecting victim(s) to their doom in the abyss. While the whole idea does seem pretty far-fetched, in 2011, a unique specimen surfaced. Initially believed to be some massive whale, the general consensus is that the blob may be some enormous octopus that went previously undiscovered. The giant squid is now a known animal, so that would seem to be a likely explanation for what people are encountering. This beast is generally thought to be some type of shark/octopus hybrid that went astray. Locals of Andros Island are too afraid to enter the waters of these “blue holes” for fear of never coming back. Nobody can be sure what may lie in a dark system of underwater crevices and caves. Giant octopuses do exist, but primarily off the opposite coast of the United States. So what could be going on in the Bahamas that is worrying people who know these waters better than anybody? Is it mistaken identity, wild overactive imagination, or something else entirely?
Is a famous horror movie actually based on truth?
