Washoe Club first opened in 1875 as an elite group for social gatherings for the extremely wealthy. However, tragedy soon followed, as the building burned down less than half a year later in a massive inferno that devastated the area. Luckily, the place was able to re-open in another location nearby the next year. Antiques, billiards, and other fancy amenities made the organization stand out in the Wild West. Numerous high-profile celebrities and politicians were known to frequent the club. Once the small mining town went bankrupt, the building was shut down permanently. Today, it still remains open as a local watering hole in the small town of Boulder City, Nevada, with its upper tiers renowned for significant paranormal activity that experts and enthusiasts flock to experience. It’s a common site on many ghost-hunting shows and series to this day. The region is literally a ghost town in a place where socialites often congregated back in the day. Tours are still offered for those who can handle the intense supernatural activity that is reported there. Such apparitions include the spirit of a woman in blue and various shadow figures of adults and children. Not only that, but the rear of the building was previously a makeshift morgue when graves were impossible to dig up. Also known as “Millionaire’s Club”, for obvious reasons, this speakeasy continues to live on into modern times with an active legacy of both happiness and darkness in this desert region of the Southwest United States.
