Haunted Chillingham Castle

Chillingham Castle began in the 12th century as an English monastery owned by the Grey family. Initially built to shield attacks from Scottish warriors, such as infamous William “Braveheart” Wallace, the fortress remains family-owned to this very day. Sir Humphry Wakefield, an in-law of the original descendants, proudly holds the title currently. Recently featured on a number of paranormal investigation series and visited by numerous experts in the field, the building is widely thought to be England’s most haunted location, sitting just below the border with Scotland. Ghosthunters often flock there from all over the world and rarely leave disappointed, as over 100 entities are said to remain within these walls and on these grounds. Several historic monarchs and kings have stayed there. Some examples of the known undead residents include a glowing spirit called Blue Boy, Lady Mary Berkeley, and White Pantry Ghost. Like many medieval domiciles, the basement also contains a torture chamber that was ruled with an iron fist by John Sage, who still prefers to keep unwanted visitors out and is not shy about letting them know it. The Pink Room and Great Hall are 2 other extremely creepy spots inside the castle for various reasons and holding multiple artifacts. Mysterious voices and footsteps are commonly heard, and objects are seen moving on their own in this enormous property that also has surrounding forests with their own creepy vibes. So what’s really going on there?
