Isle of Wight was formed geologically during the last Ice Age when tides rose high enough to sink a former river valley just off England southern coast. Its name comes from “Vectis”, which was an old-time Latin moniker that evolved through Celtic and Anglo-Saxon origin that was defined as a synonym of being separated. Hence, its location in relation to mainland England. What most commoners may not realize is that the island has long been considered to be extremely haunted over many millennia throughout history. Experts in the paranormal field strongly feel like countless ley lines exist underground beneath the land, causing strange and mysterious auras and ambience to permeate. The region was once rife with Roman villas, fierce medieval warfare, and grand prisons. Many dark legends are connected to ancient ruins and abandoned hospitals on the island.
