Monster High in the Himalayas

Yeti (aka “Abominable Snowman”) has been told in legends as long as we can remember, but the peak of the phenomenon took off in 1921 when a British quest to Mount Everest resulted in translation confusion about the fauna in these mountains. What we in America know as “Sasquatch” or “Bigfoot” actually could have other relatives in the animal world all across the globe. Yeti is arguably the biggest one, both literally and figuratively. Local lore has told of hairy man-like beasts residing at extremely high altitudes, where both weather and terrain can be rough. Once thought to be spiritual deities that protected the region, evidence is always being sought by those brave enough to attempt an expedition. This particular species can range in color, possibly being white; red; brown; gray; or black. While some bears do live there, many of the footprints captured seem way too big to fit any known creatures. Serpas and Tibetans have long held this so-called cryptid in high regard and worship them beyond our wildest imagination. While rare, bear can occasionally walk or stand on their hind legs, making them seem much taller than they really are, but believers swear this monster is bipedal. However, the terrain is extremely difficult to navigate, let alone for even a normal animal or human. Could it be the missing link to our own evolution? Is it possible that some beast remains out there undetected? Who knows for sure? But evidence is clearly not lacking.
